Grampian Hospital Radio

Radio Rainbow works in partnership with the playleaders and nursing staff to provide a dedicated radio service to the patients at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.

The current Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital has 70 beds, and patients in the hospital are aged 14 years and under.

Patients and staff are encouraged to visit our studio on the lower ground floor of the hospital or to phone in with a request.

Radio Rainbow broadcasts a range of pop music, children’s songs and stories.

Live shows are broadcast on Radio Rainbow between 5:30pm - 9:00pm during the week and between 12:00pm - 4:00pm at the weekend.

Request collectors visit the wards on a regular basis to speak to patients and staff and find out what music they would like to hear.
